Company description::
In the heart of the Silicon Valley there is a small, but vital museum that challenges the minds of children in a unique way. Every year they pick real world problems and have children try to solve them. This year they chose the environmental disaster facing people around Lake Davis. At that lake, non-native Northern Pike have been introduced to the lake creating devastation for native fish.
One couragious group of 5th graders deviced a toaster looking robot that could segregate and grab plastic pike fish in a tank as a solution to the Lake Davis Disaster.
Under the leadership of a creative 5th grade teacher at Warm Springs Elementary,in Fremont California Mr. Sanders, and a group of students called the JAVAAS created a special robot that solved the problem and won over $1000 in prizes including $750 in savings bonds for these winners.
Mr. Sanders, who has won NUMMI teacher of the year last year for creative technology in the classroom and this year as WALMART teacher for technology in the classroom comes from the semiconductor industry and is now in his second career. Using his learned skills from the industry guided the young engineers to their first place position over all San Francisco Bay schools,in the 5th/6th grade leveled comptetion
